Make fitness a habit.
Every personal success story starts with your first visit to the gym. Although a single visit is a great start, you won’t see positive changes in your mind and body unless you make hitting the gym regularly a habit.
Control your lifts
When lifting weights be sure to go slow and always remain in control. Pushing yourself to lift more than your current fitness level allows can result in jerky uncontrolled movements which may lead to injury.
Do Compound Movements
Compound movements engage multiple joints and muscle groups to ensure you get the maximum results for your efforts. Compound movements include exercises such as squats, dead lifts, or bench press.
Posture Perfect
Be sure to focus on maintaining good posture during your workout as well as your day to day activities. When lifting, pay special attention to the alignment of your back and joints while maintaining an engaged core for best results.
Squeeze
Adding a little squeeze to your target muscle group at the top and bottom of your rep can go a long way. This works particularly well at the bottom of a squat.
Finish Every Rep
When things start to get tough it can be easy to think about giving up and moving on to the next activity. If you feel like quitting early remind yourself that it’s in those moments of struggle that the real change happens.
